Lesson 10: Common Deal Properties

Using deal properties, deal records, and customising views

Navigating to the Deals Section

Switching to List View

Navigate to Sales and Deals, and then switch to the List View if you are currently on the board view.

Editing Columns

Click Edit Columns and select the important properties to display. These should include:

  • Pipeline

  • Deal Stage

  • Amount

  • Deal Owner

  • Associated Contacts

You can rearrange the order of these columns and then click Apply.

Viewing Columns in List View

After applying, you’ll see these properties displayed as columns. You can return to this panel anytime to adjust or add/remove properties again by clicking Edit Columns.

Viewing Deal Properties on the Deal Record

Opening a Deal

Open any deal record to see:

  • Deal Name

  • Amount

  • Deal Stage

  • Pipeline

  • Deal Owner (under “About this deal”)

Customizing the Deal Sidebar

To add or remove properties in the sidebar:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Click Record Customization

  3. Select Customize the left sidebar

  4. Click Edit Default View

 

You’ll be able to:

  • Search for properties

  • Add or remove them

  • Rearrange their order

  • Save the changes

Switching to Board View

Key Deal Card Properties

In Board View, you'll want these to appear on the deal cards:

  • Amount

  • Deal Owner
    (Deal Stage and Pipeline are already part of the visual layout, so no need to add them)

Customizing Deal Cards

To customize what shows up:

  1. Navigate to Settings

  2. Click Pipelines

  3. Choose the pipeline you want to edit

  4. Select Customize Deal Cards

Remove unnecessary fields (e.g. Closed Date), and add Deal Owner if it’s missing. Click Save, then refresh the pipeline view.

Once updated, your deal cards will show:

  • Deal Name

  • Amount

  • Deal Owner

If Deal Owner is missing on any card, that means it hasn’t been assigned yet.
