CTAs are a tool in HubSpot. You use CTAs to create buttons, banners, or pop-ups to add to your HubSpot pages and attract new visitors. You can also add CTAs to external pages.
Where to Find CTAs
- Go to Marketing > Lead Capture > CTAs.
- Click Create (or the big "Get Started" button if you haven’t made any yet).
Choosing a Template
You can:

Create a CTA from scratch

Use HubSpot templates (like event promos, lead capture, or simple text CTAs)
Creating a CTA from Scratch
Let’s create a pop-up box for the website.
Editing the Layout

On the left panel under the Add tab, drag and drop modules like buttons, images, or text

Add a button or keep the one from the template

Add an image from your library or upload one

Link your image or button to a contact page or another destination
Styling Your CTA
Go to the Styles tab to:

Adjust spacing and padding

Set layout and sizing

Choose background color or image
Targeting Options
Before setting this up, don’t forget to name your CTA (e.g., “Testing CTA”).
Trigger Rules
Choose when your CTA shows up:

Scroll percentage

Exit intent (when someone’s about to leave)
-
Elapsed time (e.g., after 10 seconds)
-
Inactivity
Target Audience
Pick which pages the CTA should show up on:

All pages
-
Pages that start with a specific URL
Then choose who sees it:

All visitors
-
Filtered visitors (like by country, device type, or HubSpot lists)
You can also add exclusion rules.
Frequency
Set how often the CTA will appear:

Once every few days, weeks, or months
Final Settings and Publishing
Go to the Options tab to:

Schedule the CTA for later
-
Publish it immediately
-
Set a specific date and time
After reviewing and previewing your CTA:

Click Back

Hit Publish or Schedule
